On Friday, January 25th President Trump signed a Bill to temporarily re-open the government through February 15th.
Q: What does this mean?
A: Congress will have until February 15th to reach a bi-partisan deal on border security. There is a risk that if a deal is not reached, the government could shut down again on February 16th.
Q: When will government agencies and workers resume operations?
A: Furloughed employees are expected to return to work on their next scheduled work day. Industry news articles indicate that resumption of normal day to day business will NOT happen immediately and delays as government agencies and workers get back to work will occur. Turn times may be initially longer as agencies such as USDA assess their backlog.
